This was earlier in the day at Sabbath School
We then went home to give Caleb and the dogs supper and to get Caleb ready for bed. Then, much to Steve's surprise, my dad came over to sit while Caleb slept, and we went out to eat with Rad and Jen and David and Yully. It was nothing fancy, but it was nice to surprise Steve with something special since we usually don't go anywhere on Saturday night anymore.
We went to Uno's Chicago Grill and since we never go out anymore, we didn't realize there would be wait at that time of night. So, we had to wait about 30-45 minutes to get in and then we had really slow service, so it was a long process, but had good food and good company, so it was very nice. Sadly, I didn't get any pictures.
Sunday was our 11 year anniversary. We are really not too big on celebrating anniversaries, so we didn't even give each other gifts. We had made plans to go down to Newport and stay overnight on Sunday with my parents, and I had wanted to go apple picking, so I worked a little while in the morning and then we went to some yard sales with my mom and Dania (and we had really good luck), and then we headed to the apple orchard which was almost on the way to Newport so that worked out well. In hindsight I should have realized that a holiday weekend was probably not the best time to go pick apples and since it had rained on Saturday, I think everyone went on Sunday instead. So, it was very crowded there. We wanted to take a hayride out to the pumpkin patch, but the line for the hayride was so long that we didn't end up doing that. We did pick some apples and got some good pictures, but we didn't actually buy too many. We had also wanted to buy some bulk apples to make applesauce but hadn't investigated that beforehand and it turns out that you have to arrange it ahead of time if you want to buy apples in bulk. So we struck out there! So, we did have fun, but needless to say, it was not the idyllic apple-picking experience that I had envisioned.
Not my favorite view of myself, but I love when Caleb walks/stands like this!

Then Caleb had a tubby and went to bed. He had no trouble going to sleep since he hadn't had a nap, so that was good. Then we just watched a little TV and then taught my parents to play Monopoly Deal and played for awhile before heading to bed.
Steve unfortunately had to get up early and leave to go on a work trip but he booked his flight out of Providence since we would be in Newport, so that was good. Caleb and I stuck around with my parents in the morning and then we all went home together.
Reading a book with Grampy in bed
We went for a nice walk on the Cliff Walk. It was a fairly mild morning so it was beautiful for walking. I love the Cliff Walk!
Then we headed home but my mom wanted to stop at an apple orchard to see if she could buy some apples on our way out. Turns out that you had to pick them, so she quickly went and picked a bag of apples. It was a nice orchard/farm and they also had pumpkins, so I think maybe next year we will go there to pick apples and combine it with another overnight stay in Newport.
On Tuesday we met some of our friends at Heritage again. We did our two favorite things - riding the carousel and playing in Hidden Hollow. We had a fun time with our friends but of course I was the first to leave since I am a stickler about getting Caleb down for a nap (I jokingly referred to myself as the Nap Nazi when I told everyone I had to leave).
We rode the goat again since it doesn't go up and down!
On Wednesday I had to work and Caleb and Grammy had a fun day. I know that Caleb helped Grammy cook some and I got one picture of them at the beach, but other than that, I am not sure what they did!
Wednesday night Steve got home but not until almost 11:00, so Caleb didn't get to see him until Thursday morning. On Thursday, we didn't do a whole lot. I had 3 different people I was meeting up with to buy things off of Facebook. I am pretty addicted to those sites and finding good deals. My deals on Thursday were a big trash bag of 4T summer clothes for $15, a Little People bus, plane, and helicopter with some people for $15, and a little talking globe for $5. So far I haven't sold anything yet since I am not done having kids, but when I am done, it will be a great place for me to sell my stuff. In the morning we went for a walk because I knew the afternoon would be rainy. Caleb also wanted to ride his 4-wheeler after we got back from our walk, so he did.
Sporting his Tom Brady jersey since they were playing that night!
In the afternoon, we just did our two meet-ups (in the pouring rain) and then came back and played in the playroom. We used the feltboard Steve made for the first time and Caleb liked it.
Thursday night I did stay up for the entire Patriots game, which was a little tough since I am not a night owl. Thankfully they won, otherwise I might have regretted staying up so late when I had to get up at 5:30 the next morning!
On Friday I worked and my mom was away at a conference with my dad, so we had Dede come in the morning, then Rosalie came for a little while in the middle of the day in between Dede having to go to work and Josie and Rissa getting out of school. Then the girls watched Caleb in the afternoon. Thank goodness for Grammy! When she is gone it is complicated finding a replacement!! Caleb had fun with everyone, which is no surprise. Last night we went to bed early and it was so nice to get some extra sleep, especially after staying up late waiting for Steve on Wednesday night and for the Patriots on Thursday night!
Well, that's about it! Maybe next week I will be able to post about my new nephew! The countdown is on and we can't wait to meet Baby Levi!!
One last picture
Sounds like a fun trip to Newport!! It's about time your parents learned about Monopoly Deal!!! Loved all the apple pictures - Caleb is so stinking cute!!
