GBA Alumni Weekend, the Frosts Visit, Heritage Fun, and Feeding the Fish

OK, hopefully I am back on track to writing every week. We'll see what happens. So, last Sabbath we went up to GBA Alumni Weekend in Stoneham. It was the 100th year anniversary so it was a bigger event than normal. Jonathan actually came up from Texas and sang on Friday night so although we weren't there for his concert, we really wanted to see him so that was one of the reasons to go up on Sabbath. There were other people we wanted to see too. My mom had just given Caleb 2 new suits (one was 24 months and one was 2T and he is wearing 24 month pants and 2T shirts so we kept both), so he wore one on Sabbath and he looked so handsome (and grown up)!

Church started at 10:00 and was supposed to go until 12:00. Well, the speaker didn't talk for too long and so church actually got out at 11:20. Some people hadn't even shown up yet, thinking church was at 11:00 like normal! So, we spent some time visiting at the church and then headed to the GBA gym for potluck.

2 very handsome guys!

We had a nice lunch and a nice visit with lots of people, including Steve's family. There were a lot of people and a lot of food! Shannon had come down with the kids to see Jonathan and she was also headed to our house for the rest of the weekend so she could go to the consignment sale with me on Sunday. We didn't stay too late into the afternoon before we headed home.

Jonathan brought Zasha with him, so these are the 4 cousins that were there!

Caleb and Finley

Let's go home!

Caleb fell asleep in the car almost as soon as we left, which is exactly what I was hoping for. Of course, it was a short nap as always in the car, but oh well. When we got home, we hung out in the playroom for awhile so the kids could play and then Rad and Jen came over and we had supper and put the kids to bed and then played Monopoly Deal for awhile. It was a nice visit with everyone.

On Sunday, we didn't do too much in the morning. Just let the kids run around and play. Aunt Toni was at our house as well. She and my mother had stayed up at GBA for awhile on Saturday night and then came home after 11:00, so we hadn't seen her the night before. My mom went on a church bus trip on Sunday, so Aunt Toni stayed at our house to help Shannon with the kids. Late morning we headed to Trader Joe's since Aunt Toni and Shannon don't have one near them and they stocked up.

Enjoying the pumpkins at Trader Joe's

Then we went to Olive Garden with Rad and Jen and had a very nice lunch. Then Shannon and Jen and I headed to the consignment sale and Steve took Caleb home for a nap and Aunt Toni took Finley and Griffin to visit Aunt Betsy. The sale was pretty good. There were a lot of things left from the day before, so that was good. Jen and I got a lot of good things. Shannon didn't get too much but she did get some shoes for Griffin, so that was good. I got a penguin costume for Caleb to wear for Halloween this year, so I was happy about that (even though we don't really do Halloween). After the sale, Shannon and Toni and the kids headed home and I went home to get some work done since I hadn't gotten any work done in the morning like I usually do.

On Monday we went to our Miss Lori's class which Caleb loves. I wait to tell him that we are going until just before we leave because otherwise he gets too excited and wants to go right away! In the afternoon after his nap we went to the playground in Centerville because it was a beautiful day.

On Tuesday we were going to meet some friends at Heritage because it is going to close in a couple of weeks, but they weren't able to come so it was just Caleb and I. We went to the car museum so I could get better pictures of Caleb in the car than I did last time (since my camera was broken).

I am not good with the selfies because I have short arms

Then we went to ride the carousel. Last time Caleb was a little unsure of the up and down of the horses, so this time we rode on a bench. Right next to the bench was a goat that didn't go up and down (the only one on the whole carousel), so we rode a second time and Caleb rode the goat, which he enjoyed.

Then we went to Hidden Hollow so Caleb could play the music, which is his favorite. And then we headed home for naptime. It was a great morning and a beautiful day! We are hoping to go back again next Tuesday with our friends before they close.

On Wednesday I worked all day and Caleb was with Grammy. They had a good day and took a walk with some of the church members.

Life is tough!

Helping Grammy cook

I was really busy at work on Wednesday so I ended up working an extra hour and Steve picked Caleb up from Grammy's.

Thursday was our last farm group and we went to a fish hatchery in Sandwich. I didn't remember ever being there before and it was really cool. There were tons of fish and Caleb really enjoyed feeding them. They had a fish food dispensary that you could put quarters in and get food out, so we did that at first and then a worked came over and gave our group a huge bucket of food so we didn't have to pay for it anymore, which was really nice. It was another gorgeous fall day, so we had a fun time. We are sad that the farm group is over for the year. Hopefully we will do it again next year.

He wanted to wear his hood, which is actually unusual

Thursday afternoon we went birthday shopping for Steve and then made chocolate chip cookies. Caleb loved helping me!

Yesterday I worked again all day and Caleb was with Grammy and then Josie helped Grammy in the afternoon.

Well, that's about it. Here are some random pictures from the week.

He pulled his toy box out of his closet and then out into the hallway, which was quite a feat!

  1. He looks so so so grown up! I love the pictures of Caleb & Finley holding hands - it looks like he has first girlfriend on a date!! (= Wish we could have come down, but I would have infected you all with a not-so-fun cold! I would have loved the consignment and Monopoly Deal! But pencil me in for March!
